Mike Riversdale Pops His CV Into NotebookLLM

Straight of the bat you need to know that I've only listened to the first minute or so as the cringe factor is so so big. 
I feel seen 😂🤣🫣😱



So let's talk about how I got myself into this situation.

I opened up Google's NotebookLLM, started a 'folder' called job and popped in my CV, a link to this website, and a JD for a scrum master (I forget who's).

I then asked it to create an 'Audio overview, downloaded it, converted to an MP4 and up into YouTube.

OMG ... amazing eh, but I can't listen to it, I just can't. If you know me and listen let me know how it goes, maybe, maybe I don't want to know 😳

    It has some cringe, but on the whole pretty interesting take, not on Mike, but on the whole CV-recruiting thing.

    Hey Mike, listened to the whole thing. Cringe for sure, BUT the decided you're a pretty well rounded, interesting guy and worth talking to. I think they belaboured the "jargon" and "buzz word" aspect, which wasn't terribly realistic. Thanks for sharing - not sure I'd have the cajones to do this!

How To Facilitate A Barcamp/Unconference

I have been privileged to help create a number of successful barcamps ( Wikipedia ) alongside an ever growing number of committee members here in Wellington over the past few years both public and internally at client sites. I've also attended others around the country which have been mostly awesome but sometimes missing a certain "something". During this time I've managed to crystalise what I believe helps create and facilitate (NOT "run) a successful barcamp - here it is, by all means share it around. Oh, one more thing - barcamps are traditionally held within the realm of the geeks but there's NOTHING about a barcamp that limits it to such an industry and, much like you can hold a traditional conference on any subject under the sun, so you can with a barcamp. [this is an old WaveAdept post archived here] You've got the technology (be it Google Apps, SharePoint or whatever) and your IT people have integrated it, patched it, set you up and handed it over... now what? Well, for a start, sit back and congratulate yourself that your organisation is: Saving costs (NZ$2 million per year for NZ Post with their Google Apps roll-out, and they've just started) Freed up your IT staff to concentrate on your company's particular 'secret sauce' No longer have to wait to benefit from the latest features Instantly given access 'anywhere, any time and (almost) any device' Really, celebrate that you have switched from old to new. But once the party is over you're going to have to get back to work getting the true benefits from your new toolset. Which Laptop Should I Buy?

MiramarMike.co.nz is very nearly wired up with equipment and needs one last thing - the laptop. And for those that have given advice, thanks and please bear with me just a little longer :-) Everyone tells me to get an Apple MacBook Pro but it's a darned expensive beastie. Having said that I am willing to pay a little premium for the ease of use over and above Windows Vista and Ubuntu. Also I have a mate currently traveling the US who's willing to pick up a laptop over there but I'm sure how much cheaper they actually are. And so, three questions I'd love some help with: Should I go for an Apple MacBook Pro no matter what (and why?) Should I get my mate to buy the laptop (any make) in the US?
